I often feel guilty for calling a wedding my favorite, but this is by far one of the most fun groups I’ve worked with. This awesome bride wasn’t going to let any snafus ruin her big day. By keeping the energy high and constantly making light of situations the day just flew by and delight in their entire wedding experience. While at the lighthouse in Point Loma and even back at the Omni hotel downtown, there was a constant stream of laughter and smiles all around.

Being right on Mission Bay can evoke many feeling of happiness and being content, which is exactly what our bride and groom enjoyed about the location. Leave it to this couple to have a wedding that is full of swank, spunk and surprise. Before their big moment, the girls put the last minute touches on their do’s and the guys took a big swig to take the edge off. These two said, “I do,” in USD’s incredible Immaculata church. With stained glass windows casting light down on their ceremony, the two had quite a beautiful location. We headed off to Balboa Park to get their wedding party pictures and to snap some lovely shots of the couple. Then off to the Bristol hotel for the real party, during their first dance the roof retracted so the couple could dance under the stars. Nothing but beaming faces could be seen around the room for the rest of the evening.

Even though elopements are traditionally thought of as small affairs, the couple chose to do it in a romantic and memorable fashion. The beach at sunset, particularly near the tide pools in La Jolla, has always been a perfect spot for two to become a married couple. Going off with out a hitch, the ceremony was full of the love between the two and was easy to capture on camera. It may have been the middle of December, but this bride and groom’s love bloomed like May’s flowers. Before the two tied the big knot, they chose to take their wedding party to Balboa Park for their formal photos and photos of the lovely couple. Posing gracefully was no chore for this sharp looking group. The ceremony was held at sunset at Admiral Kidd Club and San Diego’s skyline lit up beautifully for them just before their ‘I do’s’. Once the ceremony was over and the party was about to begin, both bride and groom let down their hair and then had a smashing time with all their attendees.

Often times wedding are just about the couple. This wedding at Los Willows, however, was centered around uniting two happy families. The bride was ushered in on a ferry across the lake for the ceremony and was greeted by her entire family and friends. During the ceremony each child got to participate in the official joining of the couple. After the ceremony we took several lovely and serene photos around the property. Once at the reception, the party kicked off. Everyone was dancing and enjoying the company of one another right up until the very last moment where the guests wished the bride and groom the best on their departure.

This couple not only had a love for art but a great passion for each other. Their wedding was held at the La Jolla Wedding Bowl, also known as Cuvier Park, which just so happens to be across the street from the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla. Having only their dearest friends and family allowed for a much more intimate ceremony and following reception. Once the quaint ceremony took place we headed down to the beach for some romantic photos. Their grand entrance to their reception was a big indicator to how the rest of the night would go; full of elation and the happiest smiling faces.

The Saint Catherine Laboure church is really a beautiful place for a San Diego wedding. AND, it can accommodate about 500 of your crossest friends, it’s huge! After the wedding ceremony and family photos we went over the the Japanese Friendship Bell on Shelter Island for the bridal party photos and also for the romantic photos. Once we finished with the Japanese Friendship bell we crossed the street and went over to the Pearl of the Pacific for some unique photos at a really beautiful sculpture garden. The wedding reception was at the Harbor Island Hilton San Diego where they enjoyed the company and dancing with all of their friends and family.

La Jolla Beach Elopement Wedding at Sunset

This couple wanted to involve their child into their La Jolla elopement wedding ceremony which Rev. Christopher Tuttle performed. Instead of doing the ceremony in the La Jolla wedding blow, or Cuvier Park, they decided to their elopement wedding ceremony on the cliffs right next to the wedding bowl. We were lucky to have such a beautiful sunset and of course I always stay to get those shots. I love doing wedding photography in La Jolla.

San Diego US Grant Wedding

Elegance, beauty, sophistication, and amazing food, obviously I’m talking about having a San Diego Wedding at the US Grant in the gaslamp district. The bride got ready in one of the US Grant day rooms and then we got her into her dress in the presidential suite. They used the crystal room at the US Grant for their wedding ceremony which looked amazing when candle lit and can accommodate a large wedding no problem. For the bridal party photos we used different parts of the lobby and then the couple and I went out to the street for some night time wedding photography. Without the use of a tripod night time wedding photos can be kind of tricky, but I managed to capture all the love and fun this couple was having. The US Grant looks amazing at night and to place such a beautiful couple in front of it just made the wedding photos come alive. The grand ballroom was the perfect place for their wedding reception which went on into the late hours of the night. By the time we went back into their bridal suite for the last set of wedding photos I had been working for about 11 hours, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to photograph the San Diego skyline from that angle with our couple in the foreground.

Mission San Diego de Alcala, Presidio Park, Mission Bay Hilton Wedding

Not everyone will have access to a day spa to get ready at, but this bride not only had one but also married the guy that manages many of them. The bridal party was able to pop in whenever they wanted to refresh the makeup or to hang out throughout the day. Needless to say her hair and makeup was always perfect. The wedding ceremony was at the San Diego Mission de Alcala in mission valley. After their wedding, we then went over to Presidio Park via limo bus. We did all of the bridal party photos at the museum portion of the park, and then went up to the arbor area for the romantic wedding formal portraits. Once back at the Mission Bay Hilton, we were able to take some more wedding photos by the bay as the sun was setting, then they made their grand entrance before all of their friends and family and partied for the rest of the night. As a San Diego wedding photographer I always love working at the Mission Bay Hilton.

San Diego Harbor Island Hilton and Japanese Friendship Bell Wedding

This San Diego wedding was done on Harbor Island at the Harbor Island Hilton. The wedding ceremony was done in the park across the road with all of downtown San Diego in the background, and luckily we had the shade of the large trees to keep things cool. We moved down the road to the Japanese Friendship bell for their romantic wedding photos. I always enjoy photographing wedding photos at the Japanese Friendship bell. It gives you a different feel to the photos and it’s an uncommon background for Southern California.

This was another fine beach wedding elopement by the Hotel Del Coronado. I really enjoy photographing these small Coronado beach weddings, they don’t have the craziness of the big full size ones, but still have all the love. This elopement wedding even got a fly by from a military helicopter which I included in the post. I think that it’s always a nice break from the full size San Diego weddings to do these smaller beach elopement weddings.

Bali Hai, Japanese Friendship Bell, Pearl of the Pacific Wedding

This San Diego wedding had us going the full length of Shelter Island. We did photos of the guys at the Bali Hai, and a really nice boat owner allowed us to use his yacht. For the girls, we did the brides maid photos at the Pearl of the Pacific area. The wedding ceremony was at the Bali Hai as well as the wedding reception. We were lucky to have a nice sunset and we did more wedding photography overlooking San Diego from the docks at the Bali Hai.

UCSD Faculty Club Wedding in La Jolla

The faculty club in La Jolla at UCSD is a very relaxed and upscale location for a wedding, and the biggest secret is that it isn’t even expensive when compared to other La Jolla locations. As a La Jolla and San Diego wedding photographer I always like to scope out where I’m going to do my work but in this case it was done for me when I was a student there at UCSD and I know every inch of that campus. When this couple asked me if I could do something different and possibly some nighttime photos, I knew right away to take them to the Price Center for their wedding photography. When the couple saw the finished photos they had to print them all out and hang them all over their home. I love being a La Jolla wedding photographer and working UCSD wedding locations.

Japanese Friendship Garden Balboa Park, Museum of Natural History Wedding

The Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park is a very special place for weddings. Where else will you be able to exchange your wedding vows while overlooking a koi pond. This couple had me do their wedding formal portraits at the Japanese Friendship Garden and around Balboa Park a couple of days prior to their wedding, this way we were able to save time on the actual wedding day and go directly form the wedding ceremony to the Museum of Natural History in Balboa Park. Once in the museum, they held the cocktail hour in the main foyer under the bones of dinosaurs, followed by the dinner and dancing on the roof. This is for sure an amazing place to hold a reception. The Museum of Natural History in Balboa Park has a full rooftop area that can fit a live band and a couple hundred of your closest friends while you eat, visit with friends, and dance under the stars. As a San Diego wedding photographer I always look forward to weddings at the Japanese Friendship Garden and the Museum of Natural History. The other thing about shooting wedding photos at night is that I get to be creative and make light effects in camera which the couple really liked once they saw the photos.

Martin Johnson House UCSD SIO Scripps, Wind and Sea Beach Wedding

This was a small wedding done at the Martin Johnson House at UCSD Scripps Institute of Oceanography (SIO). Instead of the main lawn area by the historic Martin Johnson House, this couple wanted to get married in the lawn area close to the library, by the Buddha statue. Rev Christopher Tuttle was the officiant for this wedding. Once we were done with their wedding, we then moved over to Wind and Sea beach by limo. We then captured their wedding photos on the beach as the sun was setting. Doing wedding photos in La Jolla is always best if you can catch the sunset.

Coronado Beach Wedding by Hotel Del and Trash the Dress

I love beach weddings in Coronado by the Hotel Del, and I especially love it when I have an adventurous bride that wants to do a trash the dress photo session. We did the trash the dress photos on a different beach in Pacific Beach, not on the same day as the wedding, although I have had some brides do them on the same day as the wedding. Wedding photos done on the beach in Coronado in front of the Hotel Del look especially deep in color when you look to the South. The blue color is so deep, but when you turn around and look to the north as the sun is setting you’re bathed in a warm light.

La Jolla Wedding Bowl or Cuvier Park and Kona Kai Resort Wedding

The Kona Kai Resort in San Diego is a wonderful place for a wedding and reception. This bride got ready at the Kona Kai, then we all went over to La Jolla to the Wedding Bowl (Cuvier Park) for their wedding ceremony. The Minister was Rev. Christopher Tuttle. After the beach wedding we did their bridal photos on the cliffs and beach there by the wedding bowl. The La Jolla beaches, although not as big as Coronado, are picturesque thanks to the reefs. The reception was then held in San Diego at the Kona Kai were they had a big celebration with all of their family and friends. As a San Diego wedding photographer, I will always look forward to working at the wedding bowl and at the Kona Kai Resort.

I have lost count how many Coronado Beach weddings I have photographed, but that’s not to say that I don’t enjoy photographing them. This was a very fun couple, and the bride wanted some photos with a vintage look to them. I took that as my direction and provided wedding photos that they both absolutely loved. It’s when I get to be creative, I get to really enjoy being a wedding photographer in Coronado, La Jolla, and San Diego.

Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Balboa Park, Ronald Regan Community Center

This was a fun San Diego Wedding for me to photograph. The groom had a great attitude, especially when he wrote “Help Me” on the bottom of his shoes. After we were done with the ceremony and family photos at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, we headed over to Balboa Park for the bridal party photos and then the romantic wedding portraits.

Once finished with the wedding photography, we headed by limo to the Ronald Regan Community Center for their reception whereupon the groom and his groomsmen had a choreographed routine to perform before the bride and the rest of the guests.

If you’re wondering about the firefighter helmets. Well, it’s because when the groom and friends went out to the desert for some fun (bachelor Party) they accidentally set fire to an entire hillside prompting the immediate response from the CDF, CHP, Border Patrol, and the BLM.

Hilton Garden Inn wedding at Carlsbad Beach

Hilton Garden Inn wedding at Carlsbad Beach. This is a very quiet and peaceful place to have a garden wedding just footsteps away from the ocean. As you can see by the footwear of the bride she was into having a different type of wedding. The funny thing is that the boots were my idea. She simply asked for some suggestion as to how to make her look unique and I mentioned wearing combat boots as a joke. She took that inspiration and got Dr. Martin boots with a flower pattern! The beach wedding photos were fun for the couple especially since they are from Las Vegas and not San Diego. The thought of having the beach under their feet was a thrill at their wedding, and as a San Diego wedding photographer I have no problem helping with that… =)

Marin Art and Garden Center Wedding in the San Francisco Bay Area

The Marin Art and Garden Center in the San Francisco Bay Area is a wonderful location to have a wedding. They have a beautiful ceremony site under a number of large redwood trees which not only provides a beautiful background but some shade too if it’s hot out. This couple played up the “tree hugger” side and I couldn’t help but include that shot. As a wedding photographer it’s important to go with the flow rather than do too much direction so that the photos look more natural rather than posed. For their wedding photos at the Marin Art and Garden Center we went around the garden and included the small pond, and even the gazebo. Overall we were able to get a good variety of looks for their wedding photography and the finished set of photos were well loved, even the one of the bride on a diving board over a swimming pool!

Cuvier Park, Wedding Bowl La Jolla Wedding

Cuvier Park, or the wedding bowl, in La Jolla is a very popular location for weddings big and small. This is probably why I do about 10 weddings a year here and why thanks to all of those weddings I have become familiar with every rock and bump on the reef and beach. This couple decided that they wanted their La Jolla wedding photos done on the reef rather than the beach so I took them onto the reef just South of the Wedding Bowl, Cuvier Park. As a La Jolla wedding photographer I like to give the wedding couple options as to where they want to go for their photos and then be able to give them exactly what they are looking for.

Carlsbad State Beach and Benihana

Carlsbad Beach, although mostly covered in cobble stones, does offer a great location for a beach wedding in San Diego. The permitting application is relatively simple and the lifeguards are helpful. My suggestion is to plan your beach wedding at low tide to maximize the amount of beach you have to work with. When doing the wedding photography, the light is always better the closer you get to sunset, so if you have any flexibility in your plans then plan for your wedding photos as close to sunset as possible.

The wedding bowl, or Cuvier Park, is a wonderful place to have a beach wedding, small La Jolla Wedding, or a La Jolla Elopement. Riverwalk Golf Course Mission Valley Wedding

Riverwalk Golf Course is conveniently located in Mission Valley and a great spot to have your San Diego wedding. The outdoor ceremony site overlooks the golf course, and they will give you a golf cart for the wedding photos on the course. At the Rivewalk golf course we typically go to the water hazard features and the signature bridge for wedding photos and if the wedding party wants to bring golf clubs we can integrate that into the photos. Being a San Diego wedding photographer offers me the opportunity to photograph at many places like resorts and hotels, and it’s a nice change to photograph weddings at golf courses as well.

Liberty Station San Diego, Solare Restaurant

This was an engagement party celebration at an Italian restaurant called Solare located in historical Liberty Station in San Diego. Liberty Station has been revitalized recently, and as new phases get opened more and more wonderful gardens, walkways, and restaurants open. Solare is one of the first restaurants that opened its’ doors at Liberty Station and although this site is new, the owners are well experienced in the food business and it showed at this party. Liberty Station San Diego offers many locations for wedding photography. There is the historical North Chapel where many have had their wedding ceremony, and there are numerous fountains and gardens for wedding photography at Liberty Station.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines La Jolla

The Lodge at Torrey Pines is absolutely fabulous and everything you hear about having a La Jolla Wedding there is true. This was a large Jewish wedding on the main lawn area and we did their wedding photography on the outside of the hotel and back again at the lawn. We used to be able to use the water hazard on the 18^th hole South Course for wedding photos of the Lodge but the city doesn’t allow people onto the golf course any more. We did manage to do a large panorama of the Lodge and some beautiful images in the center courtyard. Whenever I work in La Jolla or in San Diego I am always inspired to photograph at the Lodge at Torrey Pines and weddings there are always a pleasure.

Omni Hotel San Diego Wedding and Convention Center

The Omni Hotel in Downtown San Diego is a wonderful place to have your sophisticated wedding in an urban setting right in the middle of the Gaslamp quarter and next to Petco Park. This couple decided to have their wedding on the Palm Terrace at the Omni and then while we did their wedding photography at the San Diego Convention Center the staff reconfigured the area for their reception. Doing wedding portraits at the San Diego Convention Center added another modern element to the wedding photos at the Omni. As a San Diego Wedding Photographer I love the ability to move to different locations for photos to add more variety.

Japanese Friendship Garden at Balboa Park

Hidden inside of Balbo Park in San Diego is the Japanese Friendship Garden. Having a wedding at the garden is a unique experience of simplicity and serenity. Balboa Park and Admiral Kidd Club

This was a fabulous wedding involving two wonderful people who happen to be doctors. The wedding ceremony was held at Balboa Park in San Diego, close to the old naval hospital building. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony and the formal wedding photography was fun to do will all of the great locations in Balboa Park. I really enjoy shooting weddings in Balboa Park as a San Diego wedding photographer especially since I live two minutes away. The reception was held at the submarine military base Admiral Kidd Club and we had a chance to shoot some sunset photos and even a large panorama with the San Diego skyline in the background.

Sunset Cliffs San Diego Sunset Beach Wedding Elopement

I’m not sure why, but we just don’t see that many elopements at Sunset Cliffs but we always get to see beautiful views from up on the cliffs and you feel very private up there. This couple chose to walk down a ways from the parking lot to have their elopement just as the sun was beginning to set. For their wedding photos I used the sunset and the ocean as the background to their photos, and as a San Diego wedding photographer I can say that has to be one of my favorite choices!

Coronado Beach Sunset Elopement Wedding

This was a cold February beach wedding but luckily the wind was low so the bride didn’t freeze while we were doing her Coronado Beach wedding photos at sunset close to the Hotel Del Coronado. I just love doing sunset beach weddings in San Diego and Coronado! This wedding was made special by having live music at the ceremony, and even a sand ceremony.

St. Peter’s Epicopal Church, San Pedro Elks Lodge, Korean Bell

The St. Peters Episcopal Church in San Pedro is a beautiful church for a wedding with an entire wall that’s made of leaded stained glass. For an afternoon San Pedro wedding the light shining through the window gives an amazing color inside the church. After the church ceremony we did wedding photography at the San Pedro Korean Bell at sunset which was an awesome place to photograph. I even did a beautiful panorama image compossed of 10 stiched images, it was allot of work but the couple really appreciated the effort. The reception was held at the San Pedro Elks Lodge. The wedding reception facility is situated on a hill top in San Pedro with an amazing view and it was a pleasure to work there as a wedding photographer.

Hotel Del Coronado Sunset Beach Wedding

This Coronado Beach Wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado was started rather late but since this was a simple elopement, we had the time to finish their photos. We actually got really lucky and had the high clouds light up with the beautiful Coronado beach sunset allowing me to capture some amazing wedding photos for this couple. This is one of the benefits of being a San Diego Wedding Photographer and doing beach weddings and elopements in Coronado.

El Cortez Hotel and Heritage Park San Diego

If your looking to have your San Diego wedding in an iconic location, then definitely take a look at the El
Cortez Hotel in Downtown San Diego. The couple chose to do pre wedding photography at Heritage Park in
Old Town San Diego. There’s lots of available parking and plenty of beautiful backgrounds to choose from.
This couple wanted an urban look to their wedding so we did more evening photos on the streets with Petco
Park in the background. The photos were amazing.

La Jolla Bridge Club and La Jolla Wedding Bowl or Cuvier Park

For La Jolla Weddings and Photography, the ceremony site of the La Jolla Wedding Bowl, or Cuvier Park,
is a favorite among locals and out of town people alike. It offers beautiful views of the pacific coastline and
the La Jolla cliffs. The La Jolla Bridge Club is a unique venue being that it is a semi private location in the
middle of a big public park. There are some beautiful reefs adjacent which provide stunning backdrops to
your wedding photos.

Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma, San Diego

If you’re trying to figure out this location, I can help. It’s on Sunset Cliffs blvd. and Hill, and this couple hired a company to set up the alter, columns, isle runner, and chairs. The day was covered in a marine layer
which actually was great since the rest of San Diego was cooking at +90 degrees. Wedding photography
here is great since I can get long views of the rugged cliffs and the ocean below. There are no places to
access a beach, but you can always travel to Ocean Beach if you want to set foot in some sand.

St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hotel Del Coronado, Island Club North Island

This was a long San Diego Wedding starting at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, followed by photos at Centennial Park
in Coronado, then more photos at the Hotel Del Coronado, finishing off with the reception at the Island Club -
North Island military base in Coronado. This couple had so many photos when we were all done they are still
going through looking at all of the photography! The best wedding photography was at Centennial Park
Coronado and at the Hotel Del Coronado. The lighting was perfect and the weather cooperated nicely.

UCSD Martin Johnson House and La Jolla Shores

The UCSD Martin Johnson house is a unique and picturesque venue. The wedding photography during
the ceremony includes the La Jolla coastline along with vast ocean panoramas. After the wedding
ceremony we went down to La Jolla shores for more wedding photography and we got beautiful portraits
as the sun was setting. As a wedding photographer I love great lighting and locations.

Mission San Diego de Alcala, La Jolla Shores, Japanese Friendship Bell, Westin Emerald Plaza

This was a big San Diego wedding with lots of locations. The ceremony was in the oldest of all the
California Missions- Mission San Diego de Alcala. It’s one of our favorite basilicas, and it’s so close to
many other places. The first set of formals were taken on the beaches of La Jolla by the Children’s Pool,
the second set was at the Japanese Friendship Bell park on Shelter Island. The reception was held at the
Westin Emerald Plaza in downtown.

Marston House and Balboa Park

A beautiful piece of history located on the downtown side of the 163 in Balboa Park is a mansion called the
Marston House. The gardens and yard is where you can have your wedding and the photography is
beautiful. Once finished at the house we then moved on to Balboa Park for more photos. You might be
able to fit about 100 people at the location, but the parking might get a little tricky beyond that.

The La Jolla Presbyterian Church is a beautiful church to have your La Jolla wedding, and it’s conveniently
located just across the street from the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla. The museum provides a
very artsy and modern venue to hold your wedding reception, and they can hole your ceremony there as
well. We did reef and beach photos for their wedding photos and the photography turned out just
beautiful. A copy of their wedding photo book is at the museum since now we’re on their vendor list.

La Jolla Cove Beach Wedding

When having a beach wedding, or elopement, in La Jolla you can just show up to almost any spot and have a
wedding with beautiful photography. We were going to first have the wedding at the famous Wedding Bowl of
La Jolla (Cuvier Park) but the couple wanted to be standing on reef and sand so we went further South on
coast Blvd. and La jolla blvd. This couple even went so far as to make a kite that said “Just Married” which
was fun but unfortunately it was a windless evening so the groom had to do some running…

Japanese Friendship Garden & Balboa Park

The Japanese Friendship Garden is located right in the middle of beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego, and
is a wonderful location to have a wedding. The photography under the arbor is rather tight, especially for
parties over 80, but the fact that it’s located in Balboa Park means that we can go anywhere in the park for
countless locations in gardens, fountains, and buildings. This couple wanted to include their classic car, so we incorporated it in their shots by the Museum of Man and the California tower.

Hilltop House and Harveston Lake in Temecula

Temecula has many places for weddings, and new to the scene is the Hilltop House. It’s situate, like the
name suggests, on a hilltop around 1,500 feet above the valley and has excellent views of Temecula and
the wineries. Lake Harveston is a beautiful little lake with wonderfull backgrounds including manicured
walkways, pergolas benches, and a nice rec center that works as a reception location for parties under 200.

Falkner Winery Temecula

Falkner winery is a newer location to have a Temecula wedding. The reception building is new and
spacious, and the tasting room still has the old country feel. I was even able to take wedding photos of the
couple at the bar in the tasting room.

Del Coronado Hotel

The hotel Del Coronado is a wonderful place to have your wedding. This couple chose to use the vista
walk location, but there are others like the Windsor Cottage, inner court yard, and even on the beach.
Once finished with the ceremony we proceeded to take photos along the grand ballroom tower and then
move onto the beach for more wedding photography. The groom in this wedding is actually a friend of
mine and a great wedding videographer.

Coronado Hotel Del & Trash The Dress

The Hotel Del in Coronado is always a favorite of mine for wedding photography, but when the couple wants
to do something different after their wedding I always suggest a little bit of swimming! After we finished their
wedding and I did my photography, the couple went into the ocean and we ended up with some amazing
wedding photography as the sun was setting.

Del Coronado Hotel and Coronado Community Center

If you’re planning on having your wedding in Coronado and don’t care for complications and hassle, then we suggest the Community center in Coronado located simply across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado. The vast vistas are of the Glorieta Bay marina and the Coronado golf course and there are plenty of gardens for the wedding photography. If you’re looking for more variety in your wedding photography then we can also head over to Coronado beach for more photos at sunset in front of the historic hotel Del Coronado. Overall it’s a great facility at a great price!

Coronado Community Center

I love photographing weddings in Coronado, and you just can’t go wrong with having your Coronado wedding at the community center across the street for the Hotel Del Coronado. The gardens are beautiful, and the facility is new so all the wedding photography comes out looking great. This couple chose to keep things simple and do all the photography at the center rather than go to the Del, but if you budget your time, you can have the beach. In addition to the daytime photos we also snuck out of the reception at sunset for some more sunset photos with all of the garden lights.

St. Charles Parish, Centennial Park, Crystal Ballroom

Imperial Beach is home to St. Charles Parish. It’s a beautiful Catholic church that can accommodate your
largest weddings. Centennial Park in Coronado has expansive views of downtown San Diego, and it’s
great for wedding photography. The crystal Ballroom in El Cajon is one of the few places in San Diego
County capable of handling 600+ people like we had at this wedding.

Balboa Park Casa Del Prado & Terra Restaurant

Balboa Park in San Diego is perfect for weddings and wedding photography. It also helps that I live 1 mile
away and I shoot there almost once a month! There are countless places for photos and even if the park is
crowded, we can still find quiet peaceful places to capture beautiful images. The reception for this wedding
was held at Terra in Hillcrest and it was a perfect ending to a wonderful wedding day for the happy couple.
You might see them watching movies with me at the park for Screen on the Green every summer.

Cuvier Park / Wedding Bowl & La Valencia La Jolla

This another of many La Jolla or San Diego beach weddings or elopements that I do. The bride in this
wedding got ready at La Valencia, and then we did some beautiful photography in the patio. We then
walked to the bedding bowl/Cuvier Park and then they had their elopement wedding. We took the formal
portraits on the beach just South of the Children’s Pool.

Bali Hai on the San Diego Bay

If you’re looking to have a San Diego wedding right on the water in San Diego Bay then look no farther
than the Bali Hai. It is located on Shelter Island, and if you budget for time, you can even go to the
Japanese Friendship Bell for additional photos. The photography here is quite nice, especially on the
docks, and in the flower garden with posing bridge. I always like going outside for additional sunset photos
if the timing is right to that you can get all of down town San Diego in the scene.

The ceremony for this San Diego wedding was done at St Michael’s Parish, the reception was at Riverwalk Golf
Course in San Diego. The photography at the church was great and they even allowed us to use flash. The
wedding photography at the Riverwalk golf course was a lot of fun. I was even able to do the creative wedding
photography shot of the bride hitting a golf ball from her husbands teeth! Now that’s wedding photography…

Quail Botanical Gardens is a wonderful spot for your San Diego Wedding and for wedding

San Diego Mission Bay Paradise Point Wedding
I love shooting San Diego weddings by the ocean and where better than to be surrounded in Mission Bay at Paradise Point.
This wedding is also featured in my crazy stories page when a seagull dropped a slice of pizza right where the bride was
supposed to walk just moments before she turned the corner. My assistant had to leave her camera and dispose of the ill
gotten slice from the sky. The wedding photography at Paradise Point is wonderful with the variety of the bay, the beach, and
the lagoons. the reception sites are now all remodeled and very nice inside and out. This wedding had wonderful wedding
photography and they loved their wedding photos at Paradise Point.

Marina Village and Pacific Beach

Marina Village is a picturesque and cost conscience location located in Mission Beach
and it’s surrounded by water. This bride was brought to Marina Village for her wedding
via convertible car! The wedding photography came out great and we then traveled

Every year I photograph at least one wedding in the rain, even though it is San Diego and it hardly ever
rains. Good thing that I have invested in the equipment that I have which is water proof and I think having a
wedding couple in the rain kiss under an umbrella is very romantic and adds to my wedding photography.
this couple was a very good sport and managed to get some beautiful wedding photography.

Loews Coronado Resort Wedding

Lowes Coronado Resort and Spa offers many locations for your Coronado wedding and the wedding
photography. The wedding was done in the large courtyard, and formal portraits were done in the
gazebo and in the adjacent beach area while the sun was setting. The reception was also at Loews
Coronado and went long into the night. I love doing Coronado weddings and the photography.

La Jolla Shores Hotel and Resort Wedding

The resort atmosphere at the La Jolla Shores Hotel situated right on the beach is great to have your La Jolla
beach wedding. I always enjoy photographing weddings here, and the sunsets are always great. The inner
grounds have fountains and gardens, and you have the benefit of a huge La Jolla beach just steps away.

This is the first wedding that I photograph and include an panorama photo for the bride and groom. Of
course it helps to have such a beautiful location like the Korean Bell of San Pedro to do your wedding photos
and photography. I loved the colors, and they made for some beautiful partial black and white artwork. The
Saint Peters Church has this beautiful glass wall artwork as a background for the wedding processional, and
the Elks Lodge of San Pedro offers stunning views of Long Beach, San Pedro, and a vast Orange County.

Balboa Park Japanese Friendship Gardens

Hidden inside Balboa Park is the Japanese Friendship Gardens. Weddings in Balboa Park are always
great especially since I live about two minutes away! The wedding photography at the Japanese
Friendship Gardens is tight on space but filled with beauty and serenity. Following the wedding we went
into Balboa Park for more wedding photography and the formal portraits as the sun was setting. Time was
tight so we could go into the Prado restaurant for wedding photos but we still got some great images.

Mission Bay Catamaran Beach Wedding San Diego

Now there are many locations to have your beach wedding in San Diego, but one of my favorite spots for the wedding photography is at the Catamaran. You have the variety of the garden areas, the beach at the bay, the boat docks, and even a short walk away to the open ocean.

La Jolla Azul & La Jolla Bridge Club

If you’re having a small La Jolla wedding and want some amazing food I would suggest Azul
on Prospect Street. The wedding photography is great and as a photographer I can find
many angles to shoot from. The formal wedding photos were done by the La Jolla Bridge
Club and we did their wedding photography as the sun was setting for the best lighting.
